The AERObag® - BM06-HV2000 hyperventilation mask is used for an optimal “therapy by rebreathing”
to treat the hyperventilation syndrome. In a hyperventilation, mostly caused by psychological
illness, it comes to an unnaturally high increase in respiratory rate, which is associated with an
increased CO2 exhalation. A natural regulation of the respiratory frequency, and therefore the CO2
content in the blood don’t occur at hyperventilation patients. The inhaling of its own exhaled air
rebreathing, through the mask with a closed rebreathing bag, leads to a gradual increase of the CO2
concentration and a controlled breathing rate and ultimately a
successful interruption of hyperventilation.
